Joel Haashiim is a name to remember! I have 9 children and 18 grandchildren in Detroit. My mother, a devoted Pentecostal minister and a prominent member of Greater Grace Church, was the first person to introduce me to the spiritual.My daddy a foreman at Chrysler Auto, and a vegan taught me our health is our wealth. Grew up family of 7, 1 brother and 3 sisters. My parents afforded me the opportunity to study at Vaughn's Book store (black owned) On Dexter street in Detroit. It was there my thirst for knowledge was fueled.At the age of 12 tru 19, I was in Nation of Islam and also in many other Afro centered groups and organizations. I was a part of any movement that sparked positive changes. At 20 years old I opened up my 1st store called BROTHERS PARTY STORE on 7mile and Hartwell. I also opened 2 more stores.I sold those stores and became a Wholesaler and Distributor.This started my travel in the U.S. and International. Selling to chain Stores like Kmart, Spartan, Wynn Dixie etc.

Within my accomplishment I attended college and learned several trades,all the while being a world traveler.  I have seen and experienced the many ups and downs our city has gone through. It is with great responsibility that I step up to the plate as a true resident of our city. I understand what is needed for to come out of the mud and regain the Crown we once had. I won't be able to do this without your help,this is about Us and we. DETROIT WE ALL WILL HAVE A SAY: in the revitalization of our great city.
